TradeZella Alternatives for Prop-Firm Futures Traders

Last reviewed: Oct 13, 2026 · Competitor pricing and features checked on their official sites

TradeZella is a capable journal, and plenty of traders are happy with it. Futures prop traders tend to start looking elsewhere for three reasons. They need rules and drawdown tracked per evaluation and funded account, not just a P&L curve. They want to see payouts against what they spent on evaluations, resets and fees. And they want trades to arrive automatically from Tradovate, TopstepX or Interactive Brokers rather than by file upload after every session.

This page compares six journals plus the free spreadsheet option on exactly those points. Disclosure: Tradervana is our product and it's listed first. We've stuck to what each company publishes on its own site and said plainly where Tradervana falls short.

Prices are each company's entry-level list price as of Oct 13, 2026; most offer annual discounts. “Not advertised” and “Not found” mean we couldn't find it on their public pages, not that it definitely doesn't exist. “Listed” means the platform appears on the company's broker list but we couldn't confirm whether it's auto-sync or file import. “Not checked” means we didn't verify it.

1. Tradervana

Who it's for: prop futures traders running several evaluations and funded accounts who want live rule room and real net P&L without paying analytics-suite prices.

Save each firm's limits once (profit target, trailing or static max loss, daily loss limit, consistency rule, inactivity and payout buffer) and attach them to an account. The dashboard then shows distance-to-breach, drawdown room and target progress on every account, and each account page charts balance against the drawdown floor. The payout tracker lines up every evaluation, reset and activation fee against payouts to show real take-home. Pro is $15/mo or $120/yr, and the free plan never expires.

Strengths: live rule and drawdown room per account; cost and payout ledger; Tradovate, TopstepX and IBKR auto-sync; a real free plan; one flat Pro price.

Limits for prop futures: no backtesting or trade replay; futures-first, so stock and options traders get less; TopstepX sync is in beta; Rithmic and NinjaTrader are CSV import; the floor is estimated from closed trades, so your firm's dashboard stays the official number.

Founders rate: Pro is $9/mo for life if you join before October 31, 2026.

2. TradeZella

Who it's for: traders who want one platform for journaling, backtesting, replay and AI across markets, and have the budget for it.

TradeZella lists Essential at $35/mo (one active account), Pro at $59/mo (up to 50 accounts) and Ultra at $99/mo (unlimited), or $26, $44 and $74 a month billed annually. It advertises 500+ broker and prop firm integrations, including auto-sync for Tradovate and TopstepX. PropFirm Sync is its prop finance dashboard: it tracks evaluation fees, resets, activations, payouts and ROI, and can detect prop transactions through Plaid or take manual entries.

Strengths: wide broker coverage; backtesting, trade replay and AI tools; PropFirm Sync for costs and payouts.

Limits for prop futures: no free plan; Essential covers one account, so most prop traders need Pro at $59/mo; live trailing-drawdown tracking isn't advertised.

3. Tradervue

Who it's for: stock day traders who want a clean, long-running journal with strong reports.

Tradervue has a free plan plus Silver at $29.95/mo and Gold at $49.95/mo. The free plan is capped at 30 trades a month and doesn't support futures, so prop futures traders need a paid plan. Gold adds exit analysis and commission and fee reports. Its help docs describe Tradovate and NinjaTrader as file imports.

Strengths: mature and simple; good reporting; unlimited imports on both paid plans.

Limits for prop futures: no prop rule tracking or cost and payout ledger advertised; futures need a paid plan; futures platforms are mostly file import.

4. TraderSync

Who it's for: multi-asset traders who want AI coaching and market replay for practice.

TraderSync lists Pro at $29.95/mo, Premium at $49.95/mo and Elite at $79.95/mo, with lower effective prices on annual billing and frequent promotions. It features the Cypher AI assistant, trade replay and backtesting across stocks, futures, crypto and forex, and says it supports 700+ brokers. Its Tradovate page describes importing an exported trade-history file.

Strengths: strong replay and backtesting; AI coaching; broad asset and broker coverage.

Limits for prop futures: no free plan; no prop rule tracking or cost ledger advertised; futures prop platforms appear to rely on file upload.

5. Edgewonk

Who it's for: traders who care most about psychology, discipline and in-depth stats, and prefer one flat annual price.

Edgewonk is one plan at $197 a year with all features and a 14-day money-back guarantee (a lower promotional price was showing when we checked). It supports futures, says you can track unlimited prop firm accounts, and has psychology tools such as its Tiltmeter. For Tradovate, NinjaTrader, Rithmic and TopstepX it documents file imports; auto-sync is documented for MetaTrader.

Strengths: inexpensive for a full-featured journal; strong psychology and discipline tooling; one price.

Limits for prop futures: no live prop rule tracking or cost ledger advertised; futures trades come in by manual export; annual billing only.

6. TradesViz

Who it's for: analytics-heavy traders who want prop compliance tracking plus a huge range of stats and simulators.

TradesViz has a dedicated prop firm feature set: drawdown buffer, trailing floor, daily loss, consistency and payout readiness, with pre-built profiles for 37+ firms. The free Basic plan covers stocks only. Pro is $19.99/mo ($14.99 billed annually, 10 accounts) and Platinum is $29.99/mo ($22.49 billed annually, 20 accounts).

Strengths: real prop compliance tracking with firm presets; Tradovate auto-sync; very deep analytics and simulators.

Limits for prop futures: free plan is stocks only, so futures traders need a paid plan; its pricing page doesn't say which plan includes the prop compliance dashboard; there's a lot of interface to learn; no cost-versus-payout ledger beyond payout readiness.

A spreadsheet

Who it's for: traders with one or two accounts who want zero cost and don't mind the upkeep.

A spreadsheet costs nothing and you control every column. For prop trading it means writing your own trailing-drawdown formula, remembering to update the floor at the end of each day, and logging fees and payouts by hand. If you go this route, our free trailing drawdown calculator and eval cost calculator do the hard formulas for you, no account needed.

Strengths: free; fully customisable; nothing to sign up for.

Limits for prop futures: no sync, so every trade is typed or pasted; no alerts; the floor and the lock are easy to get wrong; it gets slow past a few accounts.

How to choose

  1. 1. Decide whether you need live rule tracking. If you want to see room to your firm's trailing floor while you trade, that narrows the field to Tradervana and TradesViz.
  2. 2. Count your accounts and check the plan. Some plans cap active accounts; one tier of one product can cost several times another for the same account count.
  3. 3. Check your platform, not the broker count. “500+ brokers” matters less than whether Tradovate, TopstepX or Rithmic syncs automatically or needs a file upload each session.
  4. 4. Look for the cost ledger. A payout isn't profit until you subtract evaluations, resets and activation fees.
  5. 5. Compare the price with your evaluation spend. A journal that costs more than the evaluations it tracks deserves a hard look.
