The trading journal built for Topstep traders
TopstepX shows where you stand today. Tradervana shows the rest: how close every Combine and XFA is to its Maximum Loss Limit right now, whether your best day is about to push your target up, and what Topstep has actually cost you compared with what it's paid you.
The journal is free to start and stays free. Pro adds TopstepX auto-sync and the live safety net.
How it works
- 1
Get your trades in. On Pro, connect TopstepX with an API key and your history backfills automatically, then new trades sync as you trade. On the free plan, import a TopstepX CSV. How to connect TopstepX →
- 2
Attach Topstep's rules. Save your account's profit target, Maximum Loss Limit, daily loss limit (if you added one), contract cap and consistency target as a rule set, then attach it to each Combine and XFA. Not sure of the numbers? Topstep rules, explained →
- 3
Trade with the numbers in front of you. Your dashboard shows room to every limit on every account, plus warnings before you get into trouble.
Built around how Topstep accounts actually fail
Room to the Maximum Loss Limit
Topstep's MLL trails your end-of-day balance but is enforced in real time on open P&L. A losing trade that touches it for a moment ends the Combine. Tradervana shows your distance-to-breach and drawdown room on each account, recalculated as synced trades come in. It's an estimate built from closed trades, so keep TopstepX as the final word when you're close. If you added Topstep's optional daily loss limit, you see that room too.
Consistency warnings before the target moves
Your best Combine day has to stay at or below 55%, or your profit target rises. On the XFA Consistency path, your largest day has to stay at or below 40% of net profit to get paid. Tradervana tracks your best day as a share of your profit against the consistency percentage in your rule set, warns you as you approach it, and shows the biggest single day you can still take without crossing it.
Combine and XFA, side by side
Most Topstep traders run more than one account. One TopstepX API key covers every account on your login, and each one becomes its own account in Tradervana with its own rule set. You can see a Combine, its sibling Combines and your XFAs on one screen, or filter down to one.
Your real Topstep net, not just your payouts
A payout isn't profit until you subtract everything it cost to get there. Log Combine fees, resets and activation fees against each account, log every payout as it lands, and Tradervana shows spent vs. taken home vs. net, with a breakdown by account. How the payout tracker works →
Tilt and inactivity alerts
A losing streak inside a session, or a slide toward your daily loss limit, triggers a tilt warning on your dashboard. Topstep may close XFAs and Live accounts that go more than 30 days without trading, so inactivity alerts (banner plus an opt-in email) warn you while there's still time to place a trade.
And more
The same account works on the web and in the iOS and Android apps.

Frequently asked questions
Does Tradervana sync with TopstepX?
Yes, on Pro. You connect with a TopstepX API key, your full history backfills, and new trades sync automatically. The key is read-only and stored encrypted. The integration is currently in beta. On the free plan you can import a TopstepX CSV instead.
Isn't the TopstepX journal enough?
TopstepX includes trade notes and performance stats for that platform. Tradervana adds live rule tracking against your saved Topstep limits, one view across all your Combines, XFAs and other prop firms, cost-vs-payout tracking, tilt and inactivity alerts, and more.
Can I track a Combine and an Express Funded Account separately?
Yes. Each account on your TopstepX login comes in as its own account, and you attach a separate rule set to each one, so your Combine's targets and your XFA's limits are tracked independently.
Is the journal really free?
Yes. The free plan doesn't expire and doesn't need a card. Pro is optional and adds auto-sync and live rule tracking.
My Topstep account trades on Tradovate, not TopstepX. Does that work?
Yes. Connect it through Tradovate instead. How to sync Tradovate →
Track your Topstep accounts the way Topstep grades them
Know your room to the MLL before you place the trade, not after.
