The Tradovate trading journal built for prop firm traders

Tradovate's Performance report tells you what happened: P&L, win rate, drawdown, your trade list. It doesn't know your prop firm's rules. Tradervana is a Tradovate trading journal that shows the rest: how close every evaluation and funded account on your login is to its drawdown limit right now, whether your best day is about to break a consistency rule, and what your accounts have cost you compared with what they've paid you.

The journal is free to start and stays free. Pro adds Tradovate auto-sync and live rule tracking.

How it works

  1. 1

Connect once. On Pro, connect your Tradovate login under Broker Sync. You sign in on Tradovate's own site, access is read-only, and your full history backfills automatically. After that, new trades sync on their own, with a daily catch-up and a Sync now button. On the free plan, import a Tradovate CSV instead. How to sync Tradovate → · How to import a CSV →

  2. 2

Attach your firm's rules. Save each account's profit target, drawdown type and limit, daily loss limit, contract cap and consistency percentage as a rule set, then attach it to the account.

  3. 3

Trade with the numbers in front of you. Your dashboard shows room to every limit on every account, with warnings before you get into trouble.

Tradovate's Performance report vs. a Tradovate trading journal

Tradovate's Performance report is a solid record of results. You pick a date range and get P&L, trade count, win rate, drawdown, run-up and a trade history you can export to CSV or PDF. What it isn't built around is the rule set your prop firm grades you on.

What a Tradovate trading journal should track for prop accounts

Distance to breach on every account

Attach a rule set and both the account page and the dashboard show your distance to breach, your drawdown floor and your room to it, recalculated as synced trades come in. For trailing drawdowns, the rule set stores where the floor stops rising. It's built from closed trades, so near the limit, your firm's dashboard is the final word. See how a trailing floor moves with the trailing drawdown calculator →

Consistency before it costs you

Many firms cap your best day as a share of total profit. Tradervana tracks your best day against the percentage in your rule set and warns you as you approach it. The pass plan simulator then shows whether a planned sequence of days would clear the target or break the rule.

Every account on one login, side by side

One Tradovate login covers every account it can see. You don't add a connection per account. Each account gets its own rule set, passes and breaches are marked automatically, and if a firm removes an account after a reset or breach, it's flagged instead of silently disappearing from your history.

Your real net, not just your payouts

Log evaluation fees, resets and activation fees against each account, then log payouts as they land. Tradervana shows spent vs. taken home vs. net, per account. How the payout tracker works →

Tilt and inactivity alerts

A losing streak inside today's session, or a slide toward your daily loss limit, triggers a dashboard warning. Inactivity alerts (a banner plus an opt-in email) watch the idle-day rules in your rule set, so you hear about it while there's still time to place a trade.

And a monthly debrief

When a month closes, the Monthly Debrief writes a plain-English report on where your edge is and where it's leaking. Add daily and weekly email recaps, the economic calendar overlay and trade screenshots, and it all works on the web and in the iOS and Android apps.

Prop firms that run on Tradovate

If your prop firm gives you a Tradovate login, Tradervana syncs it. Any firm whose accounts run on Tradovate connects through the same Tradovate connection on Pro, with no firm-specific setup. Common examples:

Not on this list? If your firm hands you a Tradovate username and password, it works the same way. Prop-firm accounts use Tradovate's Demo environment. The setup guide covers which one to pick.

Frequently asked questions

Does Tradervana auto-sync with Tradovate?

Yes, on Pro. You connect once on Tradovate's own site, your full history backfills, and new trades sync automatically with a daily catch-up. Access is read-only: Tradervana can fetch your trade history and can't place trades or change anything on your account. On the free plan you can import a Tradovate CSV instead.

Is Tradervana a Tradovate Performance report alternative?

It's more of an add-on. Tradovate's Performance report shows your results for a date range. Tradervana adds what prop traders also need: room to each account's drawdown and daily loss limits, consistency tracking, costs vs. payouts, and alerts, across every account on your login.

Do I need a separate connection for each prop firm account?

No. One Tradovate login covers every account it can see. Use the account filter to switch between them, and attach a rule set to each one. Only add a second connection for a genuinely different login.

Does it work if I trade through NinjaTrader or TradingView?

If your account is a Tradovate account and you place trades through NinjaTrader or TradingView, connect the Tradovate login and those trades come in with the rest.

Which prop firms work with the Tradovate sync?

If your prop firm gives you a Tradovate login, Tradervana syncs it. Every firm whose accounts run on Tradovate connects through the same Tradovate connection, using the Demo environment. That includes Apex, Lucid, MyFundedFutures, Take Profit Trader, Tradeify accounts that chose Tradovate at checkout, and Topstep accounts on Tradovate. TopstepX accounts have their own separate connection.

What about Rithmic accounts?

Rithmic accounts aren't auto-synced. Import a CSV instead. R-Trader exports are detected automatically.

Is the journal really free?

Yes. The free plan doesn't expire and doesn't need a card. Pro is optional, and new accounts get a 14-day Pro trial with no card needed.

Track every Tradovate account the way your firm grades it

Know your room to the limit before you place the trade, not after.

No card needed.
