Tradeify rules, explained
By Tyler Branstiter · Updated October 26, 2026 · Last reviewed October 26, 2026 · 11 min read
Tradeify sells three products. Growth and Select are evaluations. Lightning Funded skips the evaluation and starts you on a funded account. All three use an end-of-day trailing drawdown, but the daily loss limit, the consistency rule and the payout rules differ by product and by stage.
That's where most failed accounts come from. A trader assumes Select's "no daily loss limit" carries over to Select Daily, or reads a Lightning profit goal as the amount they can withdraw. This guide goes product by product.
Everything below was checked against Tradeify's help center on Oct 26, 2026. Tradeify changes rules and pricing often, and many rules depend on when the account was bought, so confirm your account's rules in your Tradeify dashboard before you trade.
Track your Tradeify drawdown, daily loss limit and consistency percentage automatically.

List prices from Tradeify's Pricing Reference, Oct 26, 2026.
- Select 300K is a limited release at $349. It has no resets, needs KYC before purchase and is capped at 3 lifetime purchases.
- Five accounts of the same type and size (Growth or Select, 25K or 50K) get 5% off automatically.
- Commissions are charged per contract, round trip: ES and NQ $5.76, MES and MNQ $1.82. Ten micros cost more in commissions than one mini.
- Level 1 CME market data is free if you sign the Non-Professional agreement on your first Tradovate login.
These are list prices. Tradeify runs frequent promo codes, so check checkout for today's price. To see what an evaluation really costs once resets are counted, use the eval cost calculator.
Tradeify Growth vs Select vs Lightning: how the choice plays out
The three products trade off the same things in different places.
- Growth can be passed in a single day, since there's no consistency rule in the evaluation. In return it has a soft daily loss limit and one fixed payout policy: 5 profitable days, a minimum balance and a 35% rule.
- Select needs at least 3 days because of its 40% rule, and has no daily loss limit in the evaluation. After you pass you choose Flex (larger payouts, no daily loss limit) or Daily (smaller, faster payouts, with a daily loss limit and a buffer), and that choice can't be changed.
- Lightning Funded skips the evaluation and costs the most up front. It can't be reset, and each payout needs a profit goal under a consistency rule that loosens from 20% to 30%.
None of these is better in general. Which one fits depends on whether you'd rather have a fast pass, no daily loss limit while you prove yourself, or no evaluation at all.
The Growth evaluation
Growth is the fast path: one trading day is enough, and there's no consistency rule and no time limit.
The numbers
| Account | Profit target | Daily loss limit (soft) | Trailing drawdown (EOD) | Max position |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25K | $1,500 | $600 | $1,000 | 1 mini / 10 micros |
| 50K | $3,000 | $1,250 | $2,000 | 4 minis / 40 micros |
| 100K | $6,000 | $2,500 | $3,500 | 8 minis / 80 micros |
| 150K | $9,000 | $3,750 | $5,000 | 12 minis / 120 micros |
- You still need at least 1 trade per week (Monday to Friday) on each evaluation, or the account can be closed for inactivity after an email warning.
- Accounts bought before Sep 12, 2025 kept larger position sizes (5, 10 and 15 minis on the 50K, 100K and 150K).
- Passing means instant activation with no activation fee, up to 5 Growth funded activations a day. Evaluation profit doesn't carry over.
The Tradeify drawdown: updated at the close, enforced in real time
The drawdown trails your highest end-of-day balance and never moves down. Intraday swings don't move it. It is enforced against net liquidation value, which includes open P&L, so touching it at any moment fails the account, even if you'd have recovered by the close.
Tradeify's own example: a 100K account with a $3,500 drawdown starts with its floor at $96,500. Day 1 closes at $103,000, so the floor moves to $99,500. Day 2 closes at $101,000, and the floor stays at $99,500.
On evaluations the drawdown never locks. It only locks on sim funded accounts, covered below. For the mechanics, see Trailing drawdown, explained. To find your own floor, use the trailing drawdown calculator.
The Tradeify daily loss limit is a soft breach
Hitting the daily loss limit pauses trading until the next session opens at 6:00 PM ET (5:00 PM CT). The account doesn't fail. Tradeify warns not to use it as a stop: losses can run past it in fast markets, and if your drawdown floor is closer than your daily limit, you fail on the drawdown first. See Daily loss limit vs. max loss limit.
Growth funded accounts and payout rules
- The drawdown amounts match the evaluation. You get full position size from day one, with no scaling plan.
- Drawdown lock: the floor locks at your starting balance + $100 once the end-of-day balance reaches $26,100 / $52,100 / $103,600 / $155,100 on 25K / 50K / 100K / 150K, or as soon as you request a payout, whichever comes first.
- Daily loss limit: it starts at $600 / $1,250 / $2,500 / $3,750. Once the balance reaches 6% profit ($26,500 / $53,000 / $106,000 / $159,000), it rises from the next session to $1,000 / $2,000 / $3,500 / $5,000. On accounts bought before Sep 12, 2025 it's removed at that point instead.
To request a payout, all three must be true each cycle:
- You meet the 35% consistency rule: your best day is no more than 35% of total profit.
- You have 5 profitable days of at least $100 / $150 / $200 / $250. The count resets after each payout.
- Your balance is at least $26,500 / $53,000 / $104,500 / $156,500.
| Max payout | 25K | 50K | 100K | 150K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Payout 1 | $1,000 | $1,500 | $2,000 | $2,500 |
| Payout 2 | $1,000 | $2,000 | $2,500 | $3,000 |
| Payout 3 | $1,000 | $2,500 | $3,000 | $4,000 |
| Payout 4 and later | $1,000 | $3,000 | $4,000 | $5,000 |
The minimum payout is $250 / $500 / $1,000 / $1,500. The split is 90/10, and payouts arrive within 24 hours of approval through Rise, or up to 72 hours outside business hours. Tradeify's example: a 50K reaches $53,000 and withdraws $1,500, leaving $51,500 against a $50,100 floor, which is $1,400 of room. A Growth funded account can't be reset.
The Select evaluation
| Account | Profit target | Trailing drawdown (EOD) | Daily loss limit | Max position |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25K | $1,500 | $1,000 | None | 1 mini / 10 micros |
| 50K | $3,000 | $2,000 | None | 4 minis / 40 micros |
| 100K | $6,000 | $3,000 | None | 8 minis / 80 micros |
| 150K | $9,000 | $4,500 | None | 12 minis / 120 micros |
The 40% consistency rule applies in the evaluation only. No single day can be more than 40% of total profit, which makes the minimum 3 days, or 2 with the 50% add-on. A day at exactly 40% passes. Only a figure strictly above the limit fails. Tradeify's example on a 50K with a $3,000 target: a $1,300 day needs $3,250 of total profit ($1,300 divided by 0.40), while three $1,000 days pass at 33.3%. The general method is in The consistency rule, explained.
Purchase limits: 15 evaluations per 30 days, up to 10 resets per evaluation in 30 days, and up to 5 funded accounts at once.
Select Flex vs. Select Daily: the choice you make once
When you pass Select, you pick a payout path. The choice is permanent for that account, and neither path has a consistency rule once funded. It's also the main difference in Tradeify Growth vs Select: Growth has one fixed payout policy, while Select lets you choose.
| Select Flex (5-day) | Select Daily | |
|---|---|---|
| Drawdown (EOD), 25K / 50K / 100K / 150K | $1,000 / $2,000 / $3,000 / $4,500 | $1,000 / $2,000 / $2,500 / $3,500 |
| Daily loss limit | None | $500 / $1,000 / $1,250 / $1,750 |
| Payout frequency | Every 5 winning days ($100 / $150 / $200 / $250 minimum each) | Daily, once above the buffer |
| How much you can take | Up to 50% of total profit | Up to 2x profit since your last payout |
| Cap per payout (bought on or after Sep 1, 2026) | $1,250 / $2,500 / $3,500 / $4,500 | $600 / $1,250 / $1,750 / $2,500 |
| Buffer | None | $1,100 / $2,100 / $2,600 / $3,600 above start |
| Minimum payout | $250 | $250 |
| Drawdown locks at start + $100 when EOD hits | $26,100 / $52,100 / $103,100 / $154,600 | $26,100 / $52,100 / $102,600 / $153,600 |
| Split | 90/10 | 90/10 |
- Accounts bought before Sep 1, 2026 have different caps: Flex 50K / 100K / 150K at $3,000 / $4,000 / $5,000, and Daily 50K / 100K at $1,000 / $1,500.
- On both paths, after your first payout you must be net positive for the current cycle to request again, and only one request can be open at a time.
- Funded scaling (both paths): you start at 1 / 2 / 3 / 3 minis on 25K / 50K / 100K / 150K. Size steps up the next day after end-of-day profit reaches $1,500 / $2,000 / $3,000 / $4,500, up to 2 / 4 / 8 / 12 minis. Tiers don't drop back.
- Tradeify's example on a Select Daily 50K: you earned $700 since your last payout, so 2 x $700 = $1,400, capped at $1,250.
For how buffers gate payouts across firms, see Payout buffer and days to payout.
Lightning Funded rules: no evaluation
Lightning starts you on a funded account. There's no profit target and no minimum number of trading days. Instead, each payout needs a profit goal.
| Account | Price | Daily loss limit (soft) | Trailing drawdown (EOD) | Max position | Payout 1 goal | Payout 2+ goal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25K | $345 | None | $1,000 | 1 mini / 10 micros | $1,500 | $1,000 |
| 50K | $492 | $1,250 | $2,000 | 4 minis / 40 micros | $3,000 | $2,000 |
| 100K | $660 | $2,500 | $4,000 | 8 minis / 80 micros | $6,000 | $3,500 |
| 150K | $796 | $3,000 | $5,250 | 12 minis / 120 micros | $9,000 | $4,500 |
| Max payout | 25K | 50K | 100K | 150K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Payouts 1 to 3 | $1,000 | $2,000 | $2,500 | $3,000 |
| Payout 4 and later | $1,000 | $2,500 | $3,000 | $3,500 |
- The minimum payout is $1,000, so on a 25K every payout is exactly $1,000. The profit goal unlocks a request. It isn't what you can withdraw: on a 150K you earn $9,000 to unlock payout 1, but you can take at most $3,000.
- The profit goal resets after each payout, and leftover profit doesn't count toward the next goal.
- The drawdown locks at start + $100 when the end-of-day balance hits $26,100 / $52,100 / $104,100 / $155,350.
- The daily loss limit rises after 6% profit, as on Growth: $2,000 / $4,000 / $5,250 on 50K / 100K / 150K.
- Lightning accounts can't be reset. If one fails, you buy a new one.
The Tradeify consistency rule, product by product
The rule compares your best day with your total profit. You're fine at or below the limit.
| Product and stage | Limit | What it gates |
|---|---|---|
| Growth evaluation | None | Nothing |
| Growth funded | 35% | Each payout request |
| Select evaluation | 40% (50% with the add-on) | Passing the evaluation |
| Select funded (Flex or Daily) | None | Nothing |
| Lightning Funded | 20%, then 25%, then 30% | Payouts 1, 2 and 3 onward |
Lightning's progressive steps apply to accounts bought after Sep 12, 2025. Older accounts stay at 20%.
Tradeify's Lightning example: for payout 2 on a 150K, the $4,500 goal at 25% means no day above $1,125.
Tradeify Elite (live)
You become eligible to be considered for Elite after 3 payouts on one account, or 10 payouts in total. It isn't automatic, and once you're selected the move is mandatory. All sim and evaluation accounts close, and only accounts that have had a payout move to live.
Elite accounts start at a $0 balance. Drawdowns are end-of-day: $1,500 / $2,000 / $3,000 / $4,500 on 25K / 50K / 100K / 150K. There's no daily loss limit, the split is 80/20, and you can take daily payouts of anything above $0. You must place at least 1 filled trade every 30 days. A failed Elite account means a cool-off of up to 4 weeks.
Trading hours, news and prohibited strategies
- Close by 4:45 PM ET (3:45 PM CT), or 12:59 PM ET on holiday half-days. There's no overnight, weekend or swing holding on any account, including live. Positions left open are auto-closed without failing the account, but fills may be poor. The trading day runs 6:00 PM to 5:00 PM ET.
- News: allowed, with no restrictions, at your own risk.
- Microscalping (funded only): more than 50% of your trades, and more than 50% of your profit, must come from trades held longer than 10 seconds. Otherwise you can't request a payout.
- Hedging is banned, including opposing positions on correlated products and across your own accounts. You can hold minis and micros together, counted at 10:1, but not in opposite directions.
- Algos are allowed only if you own the strategy exclusively, it isn't shared and it isn't high-frequency. Exploiting platform errors is grounds for termination.
- Activity: at least 1 trade per week on every evaluation and funded account, and a maximum of 5 sim funded accounts across all plans.
Which platform you trade on
You pick a broker at checkout, and you can't switch later without buying a new account. All brokers cost the same.
- Tradovate: the Tradovate, NinjaTrader and TradingView platforms. It's the only broker that offers L2 and EUREX data add-ons.
- Rithmic: the Tradesea, Quantower, Sierra Chart and R|Trader platforms.
- WealthCharts: the WealthCharts platform only.
NinjaTrader and TradingView work only with a Tradovate account. The platform also decides how your trades reach a journal, which comes up again at the end of this guide.
The mistakes that fail Tradeify accounts
- Watching closed P&L. The floor is enforced on open P&L in real time.
- Thinking Select has no daily loss limit forever. Select Daily funded accounts have one.
- Using the daily loss limit as a stop. Slippage can carry you through to the drawdown.
- Thinking the evaluation drawdown locks. It never does. Only funded accounts lock.
- One monster day on Select or Lightning. It delays passing or payouts.
- Reading a Lightning profit goal as a payout amount.
- Holding past 4:45 PM ET, or into the weekend.
- Scalping under 10 seconds on a funded account, which blocks payouts.
- Picking the wrong broker at checkout for the platform you want.
Track it against your account
Save Tradeify's numbers as a rule set in Tradervana and attach it to each Growth, Select or Lightning account. Tracks your Tradeify drawdown, consistency percentage and payout eligibility from your trades. Try Pro free for 14 days with no card required.
Pick Tradeify Growth, Select Flex, Select Daily or Lightning from the rule-set catalog (or build a custom one from the tables above), and Tradervana tracks it against your trades. You get:
- Daily loss and drawdown room, including the funded lock at start + $100
- Consistency warnings, with the biggest day you can still take
- Tilt warnings when a losing streak builds
- Inactivity alerts before an idle account gets flagged
- A payout tracker that weighs evaluation and reset costs against what you've been paid, in the payout tracker
Getting trades in depends on your platform. For Tradovate, see How to sync Tradovate, which lists what Tradervana's sync supports. On Rithmic or WealthCharts, auto-sync isn't available. Import a CSV (how to) or track the account by hand on the free plan.

Tradeify rules FAQ
Does Tradeify have a consistency rule?
It depends on the product. The Growth evaluation has none, and Growth funded accounts use 35% for payouts. The Select evaluation uses 40% (50% with the add-on), and Select funded accounts have none. Lightning Funded uses 20% for payout 1, 25% for payout 2 and 30% after that. Your best day has to be at or below the percentage of your total profit.
Does Tradeify have a daily loss limit?
Yes on Growth, Lightning (except the 25K) and Select Daily funded accounts. There's none on the Select evaluation or on Select Flex. It's a soft breach: trading pauses until 6:00 PM ET and the account stays open.
Is Tradeify's drawdown trailing or static?
It's an end-of-day trailing drawdown on every account. It updates at the close from your highest end-of-day balance, but it's enforced in real time, including open P&L. On funded accounts it locks at your starting balance + $100. On evaluations it never locks.
What's the difference between Growth, Select and Lightning?
Growth can be passed in 1 day, has a daily loss limit and a fixed payout policy. Select needs at least 3 days because of the 40% rule, has no daily loss limit in the evaluation, and lets you choose Flex or Daily payouts once you pass. Lightning skips the evaluation, costs more and can't be reset.
How do Tradeify payouts work?
The split is 90/10 on sim funded accounts. Growth needs 5 profitable days, a minimum balance and 35% consistency. Select Flex pays every 5 winning days, up to 50% of profit. Select Daily pays daily above a buffer, up to 2x new profit. Lightning pays when you hit a profit goal under its consistency rule. Every product has a cap per payout.
Can you hold trades overnight or trade news at Tradeify?
You can't hold overnight: close by 4:45 PM ET, with no overnight or weekend positions on any account. News trading is allowed with no restrictions, at your own risk.
Does Tradeify use Rithmic or Tradovate?
Both, plus WealthCharts. You choose at checkout and can't switch later. NinjaTrader and TradingView need a Tradovate account. Tradesea, Quantower, Sierra Chart and R|Trader use Rithmic.
Can you reset a Tradeify account?
Growth and Select evaluations can be reset ($60 to $299 depending on size and plan). Lightning accounts and funded accounts can't. A breach means buying a new account.
