Getting the most out of Tradervana — Free plan

The free plan is a full trading journal — no trial, no row cap, no time limit. This is a tour of everything it does, including a few things that are easy to miss because there's no upsell wall in front of them.

Get your trades in

There's no cap on trade history, imports, or exports on any plan — the free/Pro line is about automatic syncing, not volume.

• Quick import (Trades → Add trades → Import a CSV) auto-detects Tradovate, Rithmic (R-Trader), and TradeZella export formats. Re-uploading the same file is safe — matching trades are skipped, not duplicated, so you can re-export "everything" from your broker anytime without worrying about doubling up.
• If your file doesn't match one of those formats, manual import (Trades → Add trades → Import → map columns yourself) lets you tell Tradervana which column is which.
• Every import is logged on the import history page, where you can undo a bad import in one click if you mapped something wrong.
• Manual entry (Trades → Add trade) covers anything you'd rather log by hand, including partial fills and multi-leg trades.
• Export CSV on the Trades page exports everything matching your current filters — not just the current page — so it's a full export even with a filter applied.

The dashboard and calendar

The dashboard is more than a P&L number. It has a cumulative P&L curve, a drawdown chart, a net-daily-P&L chart, and two breakdowns worth actually using: performance by time of day and performance by trade duration — both are quick ways to spot that, say, your first 30 minutes or your longest-held trades are where most of the damage happens.

The calendar (on the dashboard, or the dedicated calendar rail) colors each day by P&L and opens a day's full trade list on click — the fastest way to find "that one day" months later.

Tags, notes, and rule-break flags

Every trade has free-text notes and tags. Tags are also how you flag a rule break with one tap on the trade detail view — worth using even if you're not on a prop-firm account, since it's the fastest way to later filter for "every time I broke my own rule" and see what it actually cost you.

Planned stops, targets, and R-multiples

If you set a planned stop and target on a trade, Tradervana computes the realized R-multiple automatically (e.g. "+1.85R") on the trade detail view — so you can tell a good process from a lucky outcome, not just track dollars.

Strategy playbooks

Under Strategies, you can define a playbook: named steps (some required, some optional), grouped into sections, with multi-select options for the ones that vary trade to trade. Link a trade to a strategy and its detail view shows a per-trade checklist against that playbook — a quick way to confirm you actually followed your own setup instead of relying on memory.

Goals

Set a target for P&L, win rate, profit factor, trade count, or number of accounts passed, over a day/week/month/etc. window, and track progress from the Goals page. Goals generate their own share card too (see below).

The daily session review

Turn on the session-review prompt in Account → preferences and Tradervana asks a short reflection prompt the day after you trade, surfaced right on the dashboard. It's saved against that day and editable anytime from the day's detail view — a lightweight trading journal on top of your trade journal.

Tracking prop-firm accounts by hand

The Accounts page works on any plan — add an evaluation or funded account and mark it Passed or Breached yourself as you go. What's Pro-only is the live rule engine: rule-set templates, real-time distance-to-breach and drawdown-room tracking, and automatic pass/breach detection from synced trades. On Free, an account with a template attached shows a one-line nudge toward that on the dashboard — safe to ignore if you're just tracking status by hand.

Share cards

Every stat surface — a single day, week, month, a single trade, a goal, or an account's eval progress — has a Share button that renders a downloadable card. On the free plan, cards always carry full Tradervana branding; Pro can switch to a minimal watermark or strip it entirely (see below). If you trade the same setup across multiple linked accounts, Tradervana detects that cluster automatically and a trade's share dialog offers an "all accounts" card in addition to the single-trade one.

Settings worth knowing about

A few toggles in Account are easy to miss:

• Trade-day boundary — Calendar (midnight–midnight, your local timezone) or Session (5pm–5pm Central, matching how most prop firms reset the daily loss limit). This affects how goals, daily stats, the calendar, and any monthly reporting group your trades — pick whichever matches how your firm actually resets the day.
• Timezone — auto-detected from your browser by default, with a manual override if you trade from a different timezone than the one your device reports.
• X (Twitter) handle — stamps an optional handle overlay on share cards, independent of the branding tier.

What Pro adds

Everything above is the full free plan — nothing here is a stripped-down trial. Pro adds a layer on top, mostly around automation and the parts of prop-firm trading that benefit from real-time tracking:

• Automatic broker sync (Tradovate, TopstepX) instead of manual CSV import
• Live rule-set tracking: distance-to-breach, drawdown room, profit-target and consistency-rule progress, automatic pass/breach detection
• Inactivity alerts and tilt warnings
• Payout tracking and eval-cost accounting per account
• Per-strategy performance analytics
• The Monthly Debrief report, plus daily/weekly email recaps
• An economic-calendar overlay on the dashboard
• Branding-free share cards
