TradersLaunch rules, explained
By Tyler Branstiter · Updated November 2, 2026 · Last reviewed November 2, 2026 · 7 min read
TradersLaunch sells three evaluation plans: Premium, Static and Legacy NYC. They share one step, a 60-day clock and daily payouts, and they differ where it counts: how the drawdown behaves, how the 40% to 50% best-day rule is enforced, and when you're allowed to trade.
Static is the one most people misread. Its consistency rule isn't a check on your total. It's a cap on how much you can make in a single day, and the platform enforces it for you. This guide covers all three plans in plain tables, then how to get your trades into a journal.
Rules last checked Nov 2026 against traderslaunch.com (pricing, FAQ, futures rules and plan data). TradersLaunch changes rules and prices, and some depend on when and how you bought the account, so confirm yours on traderslaunch.com before you trade.

- No activation fee ($0).
- At least 1 trade a week.
- Up to 15 minis.
- Daily payouts.
- No consistency rule once you're funded.

Premium rules by size
Premium uses an end-of-day trailing drawdown that locks at your starting balance, a 40% best-day consistency rule in the evaluation, 3 minimum trading days and no daily loss limit.
| Account | Profit target | Max drawdown | Contracts (evaluation) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100K | $2,000 | $1,000 | 2 minis |
| 200K | $4,000 | $2,000 | 4 minis |
| 300K | $6,000 | $3,000 | 6 minis |
Premium evaluation rules. Premium is sold with a 60% or an 80% profit split; the evaluation rules are the same for both.
The 40% rule means your best day can be at most 40% of your total profit, so reaching the target takes at least three profitable days. The 3-day minimum and the consistency rule point the same way: spread it out.
Static rules by size
Static's drawdown never moves, there's no daily loss limit, and the 50% consistency rule is enforced as a daily profit cap that closes your positions for you. Funded accounts have their own daily earnings cap, except on the 90% profit split. The minimum withdrawal is $200.
| Account | Profit target | Max drawdown (static) | Evaluation daily cap | Funded daily cap | Contracts (evaluation) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25K | $1,500 | $500 | $750 | $1,000 | 1 mini |
| 50K | $3,000 | $1,000 | $1,500 | $2,000 | 2 minis |
| 100K | $6,000 | $2,000 | $3,000 | $4,000 | 4 minis |
Static evaluation and funded rules. The funded daily cap doesn't apply on the 90% profit split.
How the Static daily caps work
The Static caps are the part of TradersLaunch most people don't get, because the "50% consistency rule" works differently here than on other firms.
On a typical consistency rule, nothing stops you from having a huge day. The firm checks afterward whether your best day was more than its percentage of your total profit. On Static, the platform stops you instead. In the evaluation, your profit for one day is capped at 50% of the profit target, and your positions are closed automatically when you reach the cap.
- On the 50K plan, the target is $3,000, so the daily cap is $1,500. Reach it and your positions are closed for you.
- You can't pass in fewer than two days. Two days at the cap make exactly the target. Most people will take longer.
- Losses aren't capped. The cap only limits how much you can make in a day. A losing day isn't affected, and the drawdown still applies.
- The drawdown is static. The floor stays a fixed distance below your starting balance and doesn't rise as you profit. On the 50K that's $1,000 below, so the account ends at $49,000 however high your balance has been.
- Funded accounts are capped too. Daily earnings on a funded Static account are limited to $1,000, $2,000 or $4,000 on the 25K, 50K and 100K, except on the 90% profit split, which has no funded cap.
That makes the pace question about the cap, not just the clock. On a 50K Static account with 60 days, $3,000 is $50 a day if you traded every one of them, and you can't make more than $1,500 on any single day. The pass calculator works out the daily target and the size per trade for your numbers.
Legacy NYC rules by size
Legacy NYC accounts trade the New York cash session only, 9:30am to 4:00pm ET. They use an end-of-day drawdown that locks and a 40% best-day consistency rule in the evaluation.
| Account | Profit target | Max drawdown |
|---|---|---|
| 100K | $2,000 | $1,000 |
| 200K | $3,000 | $1,000 |
| 300K | $5,000 | $2,000 |
Legacy NYC evaluation rules. Contract limits and the funded payout buffer aren't in the data we checked.
Anything outside 9:30am to 4:00pm ET is off limits on these accounts, so plan your day around the session rather than around your usual hours.
How to journal TradersLaunch trades
CSV import works today, and auto-sync is coming. Don't wait for it to start journaling:
- Export your trades. On Volumetrica (DeepCharts), export the trade list. Tradervana recognizes it by its column names (symbol, quantity, entry and exit time and price, and profit/loss). If a column is named differently in your file, it asks you to point it at the right one.
- Import the file. Drop it on the import page. The export has no Buy/Sell column, so Tradervana works out long or short from which way price moved and whether the trade made or lost money.
- Check your time zone. The times in the file carry no zone, so Tradervana reads them in the time zone set on your account. Check it in settings before you import, so trades land on the right day.
- Attach a rule set. Pick the plan in the rule-set catalog and attach it to the account. Static accounts show how much of today's daily cap you've used.
Import again after each session. Importing the same file twice is safe: trades you already have are skipped, not duplicated. If your account runs on another platform, import whatever trade list it gives you: the importer matches columns by name and asks you to point it at any it can't find. There's more in how to import trades from a CSV.
The mistakes that fail TradersLaunch accounts
- Planning a one-day pass on Static. The daily cap makes it impossible. Two days at the cap is the fastest it can go, and a normal pace is much slower.
- Reading Static's floor as a trailing one. It never moves up. Profit gives you more room, but the floor stays put, so $500, $1,000 or $2,000 below your starting balance is where the account ends.
- Treating Premium's 40% rule like a Static cap. On Premium nothing stops a big day. You find out afterward, and a big day can leave you stuck until other days dilute it.
- Trading Legacy NYC outside the session. It's 9:30am to 4:00pm ET only.
- Letting an account go quiet. Every plan needs at least 1 trade a week.
- Ignoring the clock. You get 60 days, and the free 30-day extension only applies if you're above 50% of the target.
Plan your pass
The pass calculator turns your plan's rules into a daily target, the most to risk per trade and the biggest day allowed. It takes TradersLaunch's daily profit cap into account, the same way Tradervana's Pass-plan simulator does. Open it with your plan filled in:
Track it against your account
Save your TradersLaunch plan as a rule set in Tradervana and attach it to each account. It tracks your drawdown, your daily profit cap and your best-day percentage from your trades. Try Pro free for 14 days with no card required.
Pick Premium, Static or Legacy NYC from the rule-set catalog (or build a custom one from the tables above), and Tradervana tracks it against your trades. You get:
- Drawdown room, from your starting balance and your plan's floor
- Your daily profit cap, with how much of today's room is left on Static
- Consistency warnings on Premium and Legacy NYC, with the biggest day you can still take
- Tilt warnings when a losing streak builds
- A pass-plan simulator that walks a planned run of days through every rule, including the daily cap
Getting trades in is by CSV today. Auto-sync for TradersLaunch is coming. For how TradersLaunch compares with the other firms, see Prop firm rules compared. Choosing a journal? See the best trading journal for prop firms.
TradersLaunch rules FAQ
Does TradersLaunch have a consistency rule?
Premium and Legacy NYC have a 40% best-day rule in the evaluation, and none once you're funded. Static doesn't check your best day against your total. It enforces its 50% rule as a daily profit cap in the evaluation: you can't make more than half the profit target in one day, and your positions are closed automatically when you reach it. No plan has a consistency rule on funded accounts.
How do the TradersLaunch Static daily profit caps work?
In the evaluation the cap is 50% of the profit target: $750 on 25K, $1,500 on 50K and $3,000 on 100K. When your day reaches it, your positions are closed automatically. Funded Static accounts cap daily earnings too, at $1,000, $2,000 and $4,000 on 25K, 50K and 100K, except on the 90% profit split.
Does TradersLaunch have a daily loss limit?
Premium and Static have none. We haven't seen a daily loss limit listed for Legacy NYC, so check traderslaunch.com before you rely on that. Every plan still has its drawdown.
Is the TradersLaunch drawdown trailing or static?
It depends on the plan. Premium and Legacy NYC use an end-of-day trailing drawdown that locks. On Premium it locks at your starting balance. Static's drawdown never moves: the floor stays a fixed distance below your starting balance.
How long do you have to pass at TradersLaunch?
Every plan is one step with 60 days to pass. If you're above 50% of the profit target when the time runs out you get a free 30-day extension. You also need at least 1 trade a week, and Premium needs at least 3 trading days.
How many TradersLaunch accounts can you have, and how do payouts work?
You can have up to 5 funded accounts, with up to 15 minis. Payouts are daily on every plan, and Static has a $200 minimum withdrawal.
Can Tradervana sync my TradersLaunch trades automatically?
Not yet. CSV import works today, including the trade list from Volumetrica (DeepCharts), and auto-sync is coming. Until then you can import a file after each session or add trades by hand, and Tradervana tracks your drawdown, daily cap and consistency from them.
